This was both painful and amazing to do. I like seeing my improvement but looking at my old artwork makes my eyes bleed until I don't even have eyeballs anymore.
For 2010, I'd love to do more traditional art, draw BIG BIG BIG, and really get focused on backgrounds. Here's to a new year!

A bunch of still lifes done for college. I have a lot more but they sort of suck, so they're never seeing the light of day. I actually really enjoy doing these. There's something nice about sitting down & drawing for 3 hours straight.

Stress-relief/warm-up before I start on college homework. Here's a character I, uh, basically never draw.//// College is fun and amazing and great, and it is fucking awesome having so many classes focused on drawing, but at the same time it is stressful and seriously kicking my ass. I just really needed to draw something personal to let off some steam.

Finally done. Pastels, charcoal, and pen on the back of a cut-up cereal box. Too many hours. Urgh. I attacked it with a razor blade and cropped out all the little bits I hated, lol.

I might draw him different every time, but I still love drawing my babyboy Scythe. He's been with me since 7th grade. Of all my characters, he remains my favorite, no matter how Gary Stu-ish he is. ♥
These bottom two are WIPs that I will never finish, because they're kind of fug. Especially that top one of Sasuke eurgh. His expression is so blank and empty it's creepy. Today we had an art workshop. The teacher focused on portraits, and these are the fruits of my labor. Together they represent maybe 5 hours of work. Both are done with pastels on sugar paper.
I'm reasonably happy with them. It's hard to be objective after I've put so much work in them; I'd have to come back to them to really know if they're good or not.

She's the saner of the two, but it's easy to look sane when you have a brother like Liam.She has a very que sera, sera attitude, and is fond expensive food. I like how this hairstyle looks on him. It's cute!
And, hm, lately I've been drawing everybody in jackets. It's really weird! Maybe I just have a thing for jackets.
Next to Scythe, Ethan Blade is probably my favorite character I've ever thought up. He's kind of the voice of sanity, tbh, and it takes a lot to unnerve him. Too bad no one ever listens to him--and then he has to bail them out! *g*

Blade! Posing all dramatically in a... school uniform. Because I like drawing the Errerrin verse characters in modern clothes, hee.als;jljasdlf I forgot to draw his tail. D: Oops.
You know, it's funny. Every time artists (yes, including me) draw people in school uniforms, they're never actually school uniforms. They're more like... what we wish school uniforms looked like if, you know, they weren't totally and completely dumbass looking.

Here's a current WIP. It's Scythe looking somewhat bemused. :] After exams, I will try to finish him.
Scythe really is my baby. I have been drawing him [ since 2003 ], and I can't imagine stopping anytime soon. I have characters that are as old or even older--like Chris, Kiena and Silverre*--but tbh he's really the only one I care about.
*I'm perfectly aware that Silverre is a dumb-ass name, but in my defense, I was 11.

Today we have a young Methis. Yes, when he was a kid he had long hair. I guess he cut it off because it gets in the way during fights.
You know, of all my characters, Methis is probably the best warrior. Even if he does lose an arm later on, he's still strong. Having claws probably helps, too.
